Understanding that the most critical and limiting component in an artist’s career is being able to afford space to create, CAF started a program to help artists land studio space in commercial vacancies—for free.
By designing a successful program around each vacancy that incorporates an active artist studio with events and community outreach, Sprouting Spaces is a critical component of bringing the community together around the Arts while helping artist, landlord and community.
For a limited time, an artist is allowed to create freely and expand their work in size as goldfish grow in proportion to their bowls.
Funded entirely by Clementina, these spaces help the landlord through awareness of the location and involve the community with an open door policy that ignites thought-provoking dialogue and allows for the hosting of community-wide events that have in the past included curators, museum directors, and local leaders.
